Well now that Spring has sprung, insects will be reemerging and making themselves at home in our yards and homes. With the spring and summer rains, areas around your home will collect water and can lead to mosquitos. Female mosquitos lay their eggs in stagnant water. In addition to being a pest and biting, they can carry diseases. Therefore, make sure you routinely empty or remove items that can collect rainwater which eliminates places for them to breed. Do a walk around your home and remove any items such as empty flower pots, buckets or other items that can trap and collect rainwater. If you have a birdbath, make sure to change the water frequently. You can use it to water other plants in the yard to avoid wasting water.
